The Institution of Civil Engineers is delighted to announce that registration for the Coasts, Marine Structures and Breakwaters 2009 Conference is now open.
The conference will address the design, performance, installation and maintenance of breakwaters, seawalls, jetties, piers and beach control structures. The latest material on
the design and installation of the structures necessary to extract marine and wind energy around nearshore seas and coasts will also be covered.
With support from over 30 international organisations this will be the ninth conference in the successful Breakwaters series. The conference is an internationally recognised
forum for forthright discussion with a strong emphasis on practical application and where advances, as well as areas of debate, are duly highlighted.
Over 130 high-profile practitioners and academics have, subject to a rigorous process of peer review, been invited to present the most up-to-date case studies and research in the coastal engineering arena. All papers will be made available electronically to delegates in advance to facilitate and encourage
informed discussion during the conference.
The conference will be held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, a state-of-the-art venue in the heart of one of the world’s
most historic and enchanting cities. Integral to the event will be a technical exhibition that will provide a range of companies and organisations with the ideal
environment to showcase their skills and products to a high-profile international audience.
