For its successful application of sustainable practices, Milwaukee's Menomonee Valley Industrial Center and
 Community Park has been chosen by ASCE as the winner of the inaugural Innovation in Sustainable Civil Engineering Award.
 In its design and construction, the Menomonee Valley project advances the economic, social, 
and environmental principles of sustainability. It also reinforces the use of sustainable practices 
by civil engineers as well as the public's understanding of them. The award will be presented 
in October during the Society's annual conference in Memphis, Tenn.
